At each SharePoint site level, you are able to configure how search scopes will be shown by the Search Box when users are at the relevant site. To find and configure these settings, do the following:
1. Go to the Search Box Scopes page for the site level at which you want to create the new scope group as described in “Search Box Settings and Inheritance”.
2. Click on the Settings button in the toolbar of the Search Box Scopes page to open the Search Box Scopes Settings page.
3. Use the Search Box Scopes Settings page to configure the Search Box as described below.
4. Click OK to save your changes.
